contentXXL International GmbH will present it’s new version of its Microsoft .NET based Content Management System (CMS) contentXXL at CeBIT 2008. At the forefront of Release 3.5 is the new “Web 2.0 Premium Module”, which brings together the different functions of Web 2.0. These include comment and rating tools, as well as the category based tag clouds. Furthermore, contentXXL International has included a new spell checking tool supporting over 30 languages in the release which also includes a business dictionary which can be extended via the Web. Rounding off Version 3.5 is a new module which seamlessly integrates the free-of-charge Microsoft Search Server 2008 Express with contentXXL. The Microsoft Search Server 2008 is the latest solution for companywide searches, which is being presented by Microsoft for the very first time at CeBIT 2008. contentXXL already supports the new Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.
“Web 2.0 Premium Module” – extra functions without additional costs
Web 2.0 is not actually new concept, however, it is extremely relevant as a business application at the current period in time. Businesses are increasingly becoming aware that they can optimise communication and relationships with both employees and customers by using Web 2.0 applications, such as blogs and Wikis, as well as tools for tagging (indexing), posting comments and ratings, and RSS-feeds. To stay abreast of the latest developments, contentXXL International has put together a new Premium Module for its Business Content Management System, which enhances the current Voting Module, with comment and rating functions, as well as category based tag clouds. contentXXL allows problem-free polling, voting and ratings to be carried out in addition to posting comments about sites or specific content, such as messages, contacts, documents or presentations. Additionally, it is possible to organise, sort and weigh tag clouds from previous CMS tags (key words) according to frequency of use. The key subjects are, therefore, discernible at a glance. Categorising content as well as automatic Content Relationship Management has long been part of the contentXXL basic system. With the newly created “Web 2.0 Module” contentXXL is offering a complete package with new Web 2.0 tools in the Premium Module for the same licence fee as the existing Voting Module.
Spell checking in over 30 languages
The well-known Microsoft Office Spell Checker aids authors and editors during text production. Words are directly proof read during input (spell-as-you-type) and compared with a local dictionary. contentXXL offers spell checking with Release 3.5 that has a spell-as-you-type feature for Web applications, which even today, is still scarce in this application area. All authorised users can correct their own text with a click of the mouse by using a central, extendable company dictionary. Thus, all users work with the same dictionary, which evolves into a working knowledge base for specific company vocabulary. In addition, the spell checker functions in over 30 languages and is, therefore, ideal for multi-national corporations.
Seamless integration of new Microsoft technology
Microsoft will introduce the new free-of-charge Enterprise Search Server 2008 Express at CeBIT. The new search server provides easy access to a multitude of information sources via an interface similar to familiar Internet-based search engines. Due to close cooperation between contentXXL International and Microsoft, contentXXL International has already introduced seamless integration of the Microsoft Search Server 2008 and CMS at CeBIT. The integration is part of contentXXL International’s long term strategy for medium-sized client and partner companies. It provides an effective and low cost introduction into the area of Enterprise Content Management using new and, in part, free-of-charge Microsoft solutions, such as the Search Server Express, SQL Server Express or the Windows SharePoint Services for collaboration areas. This strategy is also continued in the ful support of the new Microsoft .NET Frameworks 3.5, which is also free-of-charge.
Excellent collaboration with Office and SharePoint
Because contentXXL applications are one hundred percent .NET based, they work excellently with Microsoft Office and SharePoint technology, including the free WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007. With Version 3.5, the total range of Microsoft Enterprise Content Management services is made available using the improved contentXXL SharePoint Connector. Among other things, already edited and approved content can be quickly, simply and cost-effectively published on the Internet using Microsoft Office, or in this case, SharePoint,
